At SOC'S School of Motoring we aim to provide a safe and professional driving enviornment while making the lessons fun and engaging for the learner to build up their driving abilities and confidence.

Your instructor, Shane O Connor, passed his ADI registration and exams in 2023 and is fully ADI registared with the RSA.

Lessons are given in the Mallow and North Cork area as well as Wilton and Cork City. The lessons cover Mallow and Wilton driving test routes while also covering more techincal areas.

While driving can be very indimidating especially to those who have never been behind the wheel before, we want you to feel comfortable being in the driving seat and getting used to being on the road.

We use a manual and automatic operated cars to accommodate your prefered driving style. While driving a manual may be more intimidating than driving an automatic once you have an understanding of the clutch that intimdation will fade. We encourage people to do the EDT in a manual car so that way you have given it the best chance to get used to manual cars, if however you feel that its not suited to you for any reason we can change to automatic. You can also sit your test in a manual car and then drive an automatic but if you do your test in an automatic you will have a code on your licence restricting you to automatics only. This means if you want to change this to manual on a later date you will need to redo your test.
